A snapshot of the 2024 Glencoe Boat Club AGM

2024 AGM for The Glencoe Boat Club  was held on the 11th of February.

All members of the club were invited by e-mail in advance and several members gathered in the comfort of our clubhouse in support of the development of our club. A community spirited club with a clear objective to be inclusive, we were delighted to see amongst attendees a younger member of our community arrived by pushchair, and one arrive from our four-legged community by lead. Both were, as in club rule, accompanied by an adult member!

This is an example of our members feeling welcomed at all times, to be able join in with the important matter of running and growing our club for the interests of everyone and we are very grateful for that.  Read more

Keelboat Racing – Race Start

The Club runs a dedicated Wednesday night series for keelboats throughout the Summer.  Approximately 20 races are scheduled, these are always well supported with exciting racing due to the very variable wind conditions experienced locally. Competition is keen, but always fun and there are long standing Trophies to be won for the various events, there is also a great social aspect to the evening.

Below is a short video by a Club member showing an exciting Wednesday Evening Race Start.

There is always space for crew volunteers on the boats and no experience is necessary; if you fancy a go, come along on Wednesday nights at 1800 between April and September and try your hand.

Please contact the club’s Sailing Captain for more specific queries.
