Exciting Plans for 2025 approved at AGM

Thank you members!

Over 40% of members turned out, or gave apologies for this years AGM. An outstanding level of engagement on this stormy, challenging weekend. Thank you all. One member even drove an 8 hour round trip to join us at this years AGM!

Your commitment, contributions, and feedback on the plans proposed for 2025 to continue to grow our club are invaluable. 

Copies of minutes of this years AGM will be made available to members soon, and news will be published on our blog and shared in members e-bulletins in the coming weeks.

Headline news from this years AGM include;

  • Gordon MacIntyre was duly re-elected as Commodore.
  • A New Vice Commodore, Peter Duggan was elected.
  • Newly elected Trustees Peter Duggan, David Southcott and Ian Brodie will join Gordon MacIntyre to oversee the move to a SCIO as recommended by the RYA, and the launch of new club activities events.
  • 2025 shall see an exciting series of new events, including sailing and paddle sports. Event details will be published on the Clubs website calendar and shared with members.

As the winds picked up once more, we bid farewell in the last of the days light at AGM close. Glencoe Boat Club has welcomed 2025 with increased volunteers, expertise and support to see your club grow and return to the activity levels we enjoyed pre Pandemic. A significant list of thanks to a variety of members for volunteering skills, resources and time as well as noted to local ,non member volunteers who have supported the club throughout 2024. It’s clear Glencoe Boat Club is important to many near and far.

Many sports clubs throughout the UK have been challenged post pandmeic, financially and socially, to return to pre pandemic activity levels. Glencoe Boat Club has been one of them, however following a series of significant developments in 2024 to infrastructure and volunteer support, the Club is now in a healthy financial position and poised for a full range of aquatic activities throughout 2025.

You can be an experienced enthusiast, a pro, or a total beginner as a member of Glencoe Boat Club. We offer facilities and storage for sailing, motorboating, coastal rowing, paddle sports and fishing. Our Clubhouse has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with log burner and coffee machine, locker, and shower facilities. We provide members storage options for kit, equipment and boats on shore too. Families welcome.
