Old Year – New Year.

Hi all Members/Committee , and Followers of GBC website ,

I would like to wish everyone all the very best for the coming year , hoping that you managed to salvage a Christmas out of everything that has been thrown in everyone’s direction over 2020 , and thinking of loved ones that sadly have left us , a hard year by far .

The Club is doing fine and everything is ship shape and watertight , always an eye being cast over it , and any issues dealt with . Some minor damage done to the pontoon with the tides  , but corrected by our Quick as a flash local Joiner , and pontoons removed till the season starts once again .

If any locals fancy a bit of time in the Skiff shed a bit of sanding or whatever , big or small , every little will help, contact Dave Southcott , and he will advise on what needs done .

Some work will need done at the beginning of the season(as Always) but will put a list together when I speak to the New committee .

Anyone who wants to come forward to help , I think just coming to the club  in your own time and taking on a task would be better ,no matter how small it will take pressure away  from others, this way there is no pressure to come on a day that dose not suit you  .

A few Committee members , Colin being one and Simon another , have stood down and wish them all the very best . They have not gone away thankfully , and I am sure if they are called on they will offer advise if required .

The Club has a new committee , Angus MacInnes /Kevin Boyle/Lynne Michie/Rhuiridh MacLellan/Gordon MacIntyre/ Helen Fairlie/Robert Watt(temporarily)/Jill Mills/ David Southcott/Alistair Richardson/ MaxMacLean , wishing them all the best and a big thank you for stepping up to the plate .

Could all members and new members , please pay your membership and mooring/storage fees  as soon as possible , as it will make life more bearable for our membership secretary , and treasurer , till we get another replacement treasure .

Glencoe is one of the most reasonable clubs around but requires upkeep , it has the most beautiful backdrops in the world(well Photographed) , which we don’t have to pay for .

Long may it continue as the founding members wanted it to be , in the hands of the community and members alike.

It will be great to see all sorts of boats back at the club in 2021 and people going about once again( Covid restrictions need apply) , if there are any (what a great thought if none)

We wait and see how things transpire , but till then please stay safe and hope you all get back to sea in the season ahead .

Please contact if anything you need advice on about Glencoe Boat Club , if I cannot help I am sure we have someone who can ,

Regards ,

Your Commodore ,

Angus MacInnes.

Winter Storage and Clearout

As memberships are renewed, we would like to inform you of changes this year.  If you have a Dinghy/Kayak or Canoe, please could you mark it or tag it with boat name or your surname and If you could please remove from dinghy rack over winter period, where possible.
We will be clearing out the storage container. If you have any belongings in there  that you wish to keep, please remove before the end of February. We are hoping to clear space in this unit for winter storage of above items.
