Boating on the West Coast of Scotland
Boating on the West Coast of Scotland is some of the finest in the World. Boating from our club in Glencoe couldn’t be better, or more unique! Nestled within the iconic, historic mountains of Glen Coe, you will find us, where you can sail in and out to sea from Loch Leven.
All weather access
At Glencoe Boat Club launching on our slipway can be done regardless of the tide. We have a remote electric winch to assist you with launch or recovery. Whether you are setting off in your motor boat, dingy or fishing boat, the club pontoon is accessible to members and visitors, regardless of the tide or weather.
A unique history and location
Once you are on the water, you can explore Loch Leven. Travel as far east as Kinlochleven, taking care at the narrows at Caolasnacon, where you can enjoy wildlife and marine life spotting with seals and dolphins in this great sea loch.
The Islands on Loch Leven are of great interest with Eilean Munde (the Burial Isle) being the largest and quite spectacular. Regularly referred to as the Burial Isle, it was used as a burial site by MacInneses, MacDonalds, Camerons, and Stewarts, as well as others from the Glencoe area. Legend says that Alasdair MacDonald (MacIain of Glencoe) was buried here after the Glencoe massacre of 1692. The Glencoe Heritage Trust currently shares ownership of the island. Its is accessible only by boat.

Visitors are welcome. Whether you come by water, road or walk in, access is simple and you can also come by sea!
